Light Culture is proudly an Australian owned company and licensee of the iconic Australian Made Campaign, a true mark of Australian authenticity and quality.
We are avid supporters of local businesses and home-grown products, and all though we take great pride in the products that we are able to bring to the Australian market from our overseas suppliers, however we saw an opportunity to use the knowledge and craftmanship of our team to manufacture and design our own range of products.
We are proud of our progress as an Australian manufacturer. Not only are we supporting the continuation of local jobs, but there is also a satisfaction that comes with producing a nationally recognised Australian Made product. Australian Made products hold a sense of quality and longevity which customers look for when purchasing lighting products. In addition, we are very conscious of using Australian made raw material and/or Australian services wherever we can, across all departments in the business.
Through this process we are able to ensure optimal quality, exceptional response times, while also allowing us to be more environmentally conscious.
QUALITY
Every Luminaire is tested before leaving the factory – we ensure each fitting conforms to REGULATION AS/NZS 60598 ANNEX Q-2017. During this testing process we perform:
- Functionality at normal operating Voltage
- Programming verification
- Earth continuity test
- Polarity test
- 500V DC test for insulation resistance
Essentially, we are confirming that each luminaire is functional, operates according to specification, complies to regulation and is safe to be handled by the on-site electricians (installers).
RESPONSE TIME
We have an unspoken rule of never knocking back an order – we will always bend of backwards to accommodate even the most taxing lead times.
We pride ourselves in our flexibility and rapid response times – our standard lead time is 4 to 6 weeks from order. Through negotiation with our major suppliers, we have managed to secure component inventory ‘in’ country – therefore no extended lead times waiting for components to be shipped out of Europe or Asia.
Using our Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) we able to schedule and allocate production in the most efficient manner possible.
As this newsletter is being penned, Light Culture is in the process of installing brand new, state of the art machinery and production software. With these new machines our design, production and time to market capabilities will skyrocket.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
Light Culture takes its Corporate responsibility in this regard very seriously – some of the measures to reduce our impact we have taken include:
- All packaging material we use; wrapping, strapping, and tapes, are biodegradable
- Recycle all soft plastics, and cardboard
- Re-use supplier packaging
- Active member of the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation
ISO9001:2015 QMS
Light Culture is approximately 70% of the way through of implementing ISO9001 – this will be the next exciting chapter in our quality management process. We anticipate that by July 2021 this accreditation will be in place.
