Located within the booming central Sydney suburb of Rosebery, Haven Speciality Coffee café is a local mecca of Asian-Australian fusion cuisine and exquisite single-origin coffee beans.
The cafe interior design combines sleek and refined detail with an earthy and authentic palette of natural surface materials. This meticulous intertwining of complementing materials and a minimalistic design approach creates a relaxing and sophisticated environment, perfect to enjoy a morning latte.
The lighting throughout the dining area has been designed to softly compliment the space and to subtly highlight surface materials rather than visually dominate the space. Tantalum track luminaires provide narrow beam focused lighting to bench seating whilst suspended minimalistic and elegant cylindrical pendants highlight the large, shared dining table. All luminaires are complete with 3000 K warm white LED and colour rendering of >90 to create a pleasant and inviting dining space. To the FOH kitchen and serving area an array of surface mounted linear luminaires from the Light Culture XD Profiles range provides task lighting for staff whilst also creating a luminous geometrical feature and subtle glow to the ceiling.
Overall, the use of high-quality LED luminaires and integrated lighting design works successfully to enhance the project designer’s intent of an establishment with a simple and comfortable design, combining clear forms and elements.
