200 George
200 George Street by Mirvac is a new office building in the heart of Sydney CBD, overlooking the harbour and surrounded by city’s most iconic buildings.
The architect and lighting designer sought to accent the timber awning on the ground level with a soft warm light. This was achieved using the inground up-light with a medium beam optic and 3000K in colour temperature.
The other defining feature of this building is the walkthrough from Underwood Street to George Street. This whole space is surrounded by glazing which greatly restricted mounting positions. The SLIM from CASTALDI was chosen for its discreet size, which matches the width of the mullions perfectly and gives the appearance the luminaires are ‘floating’ at night.
