SUSTAINABILITY ACTION PLAN
We are excited to announce the launch of our Sustainability Action Plan. This plan is a culmination of our commitment to address the environmental challenges we face and to take concrete steps towards a more sustainable future.
Our Sustainability Action Plan outlines our strategies for advancing environmental responsibility, reducing our carbon footprint, and promoting sustainable practices across all aspects of our operations. The plan serves as a guide, providing actionable steps to help us achieve our sustainability goals and track our progress towards a more sustainable future.
We recognise that this is just the first step in our journey towards a more sustainable future. We are committed to continuously improving our sustainable practices, and to finding new and innovative ways to reduce our environmental impact.
We understand that investors, operators and designers are increasingly placing higher values on the sustainability of their projects.
100% GREENPOWER
Sustainably is a core business practice at Light Culture, and as a part of our overall Sustainability Action Plan, our factory now runs on 100% renewable energy.
As a community everyone benefits from the introduction of a sustainable lighting solution. This is an opportunity for us to enhance the quality of life and protect the environment by altering how we product and utilise light.
WAREHOUSE & MANUCATURING RECYCLING
In 2020 Light Culture has made another green decision and started using biodegradable packaging materials, including shrink wrap, tape, pallet tops and shipping satchels for smaller deliveries. We continue to research and test materials that are the most sustainable and good for the environment.
Where practically all incoming cardboard is reused for repackaging and non-recyclable materials including bubble wrap, plastic bags, foam padding, paper wrapping, and polystyrene are reused in our packaging for goods dispatched.
Scrap aluminium generated during the manufacturing of our LED Profiles are placed in our designated scrap aluminium bin, collected and sent to recycle.
Light Culture is a member of Australian Packaging Covenant. The goal is to optimize and make efficient use of recourses and reduce environmental impact each year. Yearly audit has to be done to review and optimize company’s packaging and recycling target.
OFFICE RECYCLING
Light Culture is committed to protecting and improving the environment by recycling commonly used materials including waste paper, cardboard, plastic/glass containers, aluminium and steel.
Head office in Somersby has installed rain water tanks to collect rain water and reuse it for gardens and bathroom amenities. Separate bins are used in the office for waste paper, post-it notes, magazines and cardboard and separate bins for plastic and glass.
Suppliers
Long-term thinking and behaviour are fundamental to our approach and will always be reflected in our selection of brand partners and products.
We have hand-picked brands at the forefront of energy-efficient lighting to give you access to the latest green technology which can help make a difference.
At Trilux energy efficiency, long service life and extended maintenance times are key factors when it comes to designing sustainable lighting systems.

The basis for economical upgrading is highly efficient LED products, which provide optimum savings potential and high levels of performance.

BEGA luminaires are very well known for their exceptional durability and energy efficiency that impressively showcase architecture.
In the manufacture of luminaires, the highest quality components are used, which are made exclusively from age-resistant and for the most part recyclable materials (including aluminium, steel and glass). Should a luminaire component unexpectedly need to be replaced, BEGA ensures a supply of spare parts even 20 years after the purchase of the luminaire – using state-of-the-art technology and with the parameters stored for the luminaire.
Products that cannot be repaired and do not have design value even after decades are foreign to BEGA.
For the systematic and targeted implementation of this company policy the BEGA management is certified in several areas. In addition to certifications, attention is paid to management standards in the areas of quality, environment, energy, occupational safety and health.
Panzeri focuses on eco-sustainable production that respects the environment and reduces energy consumption.

Panzeri aim to reduce energy consumption and extend the life of products by staying up-to-date with latest technologies and offering customers eco-compatible solutions.
Panzeri luminaires are tested according to strictest technical standards and certified by the most prestigious and authoritative European institutions.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Light Culture is happy to announce that we have now received ISO 9001:2015 certification for our Quality Management System. The certification, the world’s most widely recognised quality management standard, has provided us with a template to create an efficient quality management system. The standard is built on several quality management tenets, including a clear process-based approach, high-level management involvement, a strong customer focus, and continuous improvement.
“We are proud of our commitment to providing products of the greatest quality. Customer satisfaction is the driving force behind everything we do, and ISO accreditation reassures our clients that we will continue to place a high priority on durable quality, dependability, and longevity in our production and management system processes going forwards.” – Ian Wiseman, Managing Director
