Snap Fitness Windaroo’s mission is to provide for their local community, a safe and supportive environment, alongside the latest and best technology and equipment, to help them towards their health and fitness goals.

After discussions with Adam Spiteri from A Three, it was decided that lighting was the most simple and effective way to elevate user experience. The main area of the gym contains cardio, functional training and machine areas. When choosing the right lighting for this space it was important to differentiate the gym in a competitive market, and maintain brand consistency, while also thinking of user safety.

Uniform illuminance levels were used to avoid strong shadowing from machine equipment, while the placement of luminaires was also taken into consideration to ensure vertical surfaces are illuminated and sufficient vertical illuminance in front of mirrored walls

Black finishes were chosen for all suspended luminaires to seamlessly blend in with ceiling and other services whilst also eliminating visual clutter to ceilings. Continuous linear luminaires from XD Profiles were used to delineate areas such as sled tracks and treadmills, while also creating interest by bringing the light down the walls.

XD Profiles are a range of is Australian Made profiles, created with customisation and creativity in mind – they can be used as a design feature, to provide illumination for any space.
